The
GPI R&D department are pleased to launch the
In-line Disintegrator.
The
GPI In-line Disintegrator has been designed to
reduce the particle size of processed cheese blend
prior to cooking.
| The
principle of the equipment is based on a
shear pump and milling machine, with a significantly
larger capacity than those commercially
available. Design considerations included
throughput, viscosity, pressure and curd
particle size, with the aim of optimising
your production benefits.
The
In-Line Disintegrator delivers the following
benefits:
-
Lower formulation cost
-
Lower standard deviation in finished product
weight
-
Increased product quality
-
Reduced capital cost against increasing
grinder capacity
For
further information please contact Alastair
Sorley. |

Moisture Control Unit (MCU) |
The
GPI Moisture Control Unit (MCU) is designed
to assist in managing the finished product
moisture.
This
equipment has the ability to correct product
moisture continuously in-line while the
product is being processed.
The
MCU uses a dosing pump to deliver a set
amount of water into the lower steam injector.
The steam injector then drives this 'wet'
steam into the product where it is fused
with the product. |
|
The MCU can deliver the following benefits:
- Lower
formulation cost
-
Increased product quality
-
Increased product consistency
For
further information please contact Simon
Donnelly. |

The
RotaTherm® continuous cooker is continuing
to prove its capabilities in particulate
management on a daily basis. The system
successfully maintains particulate integrity
in formulations (as shown) and processes
particulates up to 25mm.
For
further information on particulate management
and to discuss your application needs
please contact Shane
Enayati.

The FPE stand at foodtech/packtech 2004,
Auckland NZ, including a 10 jet RotaTherm®
cooker and GPI Mk2 reciprocating temperature
probe, had a constant flow of interest.
It
was an exciting show with an array of
new clients becoming aware of the RotaTherm
cooker.
Along
with the FPE team, Alastair, GPI's GM
attended, making some excellent contacts
and enlightening many to the benefits
we can provide.

| As
a result of a range of queries from both existing
and potential clients we have decided to include
the most relevant questions in news@goldpeg.
We
have a number of different formulas that we run
in a single day through our Batch process; how
is this managed through the RotaTherm® Continuous
Cooking system, or is it just suitable for long
runs?
The
RotaTherm® Continuous Cooker is suitable for
short runs with a number of different formulas,
or long runs.
Product
changeover for short run flexibility is achieved
by
-
Pushing the product forward to the vacuum vessel
using steam from the cooker,
-
Removing the steam with the vacuum system and
-
Pumping all product to the filler to be packed.
The
cooker is then quickly flushed with water, drained
and ready for the next formulation.
This
operation is completed in 15 minutes with minimal
waste produced.
Should
you wish to discuss how this applies to you please
contact Shane
Enayati or Alastair
Sorley.

Products processed on the RotaTherm®
Continuous Cooker
|
The
strong interest in the RotaTherm® in
Europe has seen the system in almost constant
operation in a number of countries.
The time allocated to Europe for demonstrations
is nearing completion.
The
true diversity of the RotaTherm® continuous
cooker is being exploited with demonstrations
in product applications such as chunky soups,
baby food, sauces, meat pie filling, desserts,
processed cheese and mozzarella.
|
The
Demonstration model is a small-scale version
of the RotaTherm® Continuous Cooking
System mounted on a single skid for ease
of transportation, needing only the supply
of essential services for installation/operation.
The demonstration design has unique features
with the ability to blend, forward feed,
cook, vacuum flash cool and provide processed
product to a filler at pasteurised and UHT
temperatures.
In
Europe, the demonstration skid is under
the management of GPI's agents, Berief Innovativ
- for Europe, and Intertek for cheese and
the UK.
To
take advantage of the demonstration unit,
please contact Uwe
Seidel of Berief, Bob
Lancaster of Intertek.
